Metal Roofing

Standing seam and ribbed metal roofs that shed snow, resist fire and last for decades.

Metal Roofing

Metal roofs shed snow, stand up to wind and are a smart choice in fire country, which is why so many mountain homes use them. We install metal roofing on homes, cabins and light commercial buildings in Trinity and Shasta counties.

Standing seam and ribbed panels

  • Standing seam panels have raised seams and hidden fasteners. They have a clean look and are the premium option.
  • Ribbed (exposed-fastener) panels are a more economical metal roof with visible screws, common on barns, shops and cabins.
  • Both come in many colors and finishes.

Why people choose metal in the mountains

  • Snow: the smooth surface lets snow slide off. We plan snow guards where sliding snow could land on a door or walkway.
  • Fire: metal does not ignite from embers. Roof fire ratings depend on the whole assembly, and many metal systems carry a Class A rating.
  • Long life: metal roofs commonly last 40 years or more, depending on the product and finish.
  • Heat: reflective finishes help in hot valley summers.

Frequently asked questions

Is a metal roof louder in the rain?

Over solid decking with proper underlayment, a metal roof is not much louder than other roofing. It is a common worry that turns out to be small in practice.

Does metal cost more?

It usually costs more up front than composition shingles, and often less over the life of the roof because it lasts longer. We give you an estimate so you can compare for your own roof.

Can metal go over my old roof?

Sometimes, depending on the condition and structure of the existing roof and local rules. We look at it in person and tell you whether a tear-off is the better choice.

Will it work on my cabin?

Metal is one of the best roofs for a mountain cabin. We handle roofs from small cabins to large homes.

Is the estimate really free?

Yes in Lewiston, Weaverville, Douglas City and Junction City. In other areas, such as Hayfork, Trinity Center and Coffee Creek, we may charge for the cost of fuel. Fuel is expensive right now, and we would rather tell you up front. Ask us about your location.

Is the work under warranty?

Yes. Our installation is covered by a 4-year workmanship warranty. Manufacturer warranties on the materials vary by product.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, through the Joist app. Ask us for the link when you request your estimate.
